APH conference snapshots…hope to see you at an APH conference someday!

A Note from Populore's President:

Dear fellow members of the Association of Personal Historians,

I hope you enjoy your work as much as I do! I meet the most wonderful people, hear fascinating stories nearly every day, and I truly treasure helping clients make their dreams come true.

I want to tell you about three ways Populore can perhaps help you with your business:

First, in your own personal history work, I invite you to consider Populore's publishing and book production services. If you're an interviewer, a writer, or an editor looking for a place to send your client and the manuscript, keep Populore in mind. Also, Populore would be interested in collaborating with you as a subcontractor for publishing and book production activities. I've formed successful ongoing working relationships with other APHers in the past. It's great to work together on something we both believe in.

Second, in addition to Populore's publishing services, I can provide, for a fee, individual training or coaching. I can help you jump-start your business or give you technical assistance. I can also review your books and give tips for making them more professional. We don't have to meet in person—in most cases communication by phone, e-mail, or snail mail is sufficient.

On a related note, some states offer small-business training grants to help small-business owners receive specialized training that will help them grow. Populore has received three such grants. If you are eligible, a customized training program from a seasoned personal historian (me!) could very well qualify for one of these programs.

Third, is your APH region looking for a workshop presenter? I've presented at several of the past annual APH conferences on topics related to publishing, book production, layout/design, and binding. With over a decade of experience, I know what kind of information APHers really need to succeed. If interested, click here for more information on workshops.

Wishing you the best,
